Doing what Disney won't
Very appreciative. This even has the proper surround sound tracks! Wow!
Hoping for an updated upload that fixes the frozen image during the lab sequence and corrects the flickering credits.

Amazing! This is the Mickey Mouse we need!
While browsing Youtube I saw a thumbnail of the Wild Mikey on YouTube. It took me to a video on the, The Other Vault channel about how this short had been buried by Disney.
I am excited he brought this feature to my attention, because it did not disappoint! Being a short film 1995 means it has the same excellent quality as the Goofy movie.
When Minnie Mouse walked on screen I could imagine the cheers in the theaters.
The characterization of Mikey and Mini as two a young adults was refreshing.
While Mickey is supposed to have the cheer, of a child. it's easier to relate to Mickey as a young single guy with a dog, low on cash who likes to play video games.
Mini was charming, and sweet. She cared about Mickey, but didn't want to be taken for granted. Seeing her put up a fight really showed her spirit.
Minnie also dropped a line about being low on funds. The charm of the characters is even with the little they have as long as they are with the ones they love they are happy.
Kelsy Grammer as the Mad Scientist, was excellent casting! He gave the role gravitas with his voice.
Jim Cummings is a generational talent, but I don't think he fit the role of Julius. Jim voices Pete the Cat, and Julius has a striking resemblance to him. Having the same actor voice them both can lead to some confusion. You don't want people thinking Pete got abducted and turned into a huge monster. He still gave a quality performance.
Over all this is the Mickey I content I want to see more of. Something that breaks away from the mascots at the parks. A character with
his own life. Not just a cheerful host.
I've seen some clips from the show House of Mouse that seem promising.
This was worth my time. Exceptional transfer. The best I could expect from a scan that hasn't been remastered.

Perfect, except...
All of this video is extremely well done. However, if it weren't for the snag at 03:51, this would've been a 5-star review. Please take time to correct this issue and much luck to you.

An excellent preservation of an excellent short
Title says it all, really. This short is getting pretty hard to find seeing how Disney (in spite of their other failings these days) would have this gem disappear if they got their way. Their lawyers aren't too keen on Mickey's attitude and appearance going too far a-field... and this short does do that. It's a load of fun to watch, too!
Quick, tight story and outstanding animation. To the uploader: you are a hero.
